Jumbled Sentences

Sequence of Sentences or Jumbled Sentences : One of the questions in English relates to Sequence of Sentences or based on Jumbled Sentences. A student is required to rearrange the parts of a sentence into a meaningful sentence. Infact, there are no hard and fast rules for this kind of test. Only sound knowledge of English language and constant practice may enable a student to grasp the meaning of the rearranged sentences or reconstructed paragraphs

Question : Rearrange the following to form meaningful sentences. The first one has been done as an example for you.

Example : -came to/a stranger/this inn/one wintry day

  • A stranger cam to this inn one wintry day.
  • (a) Wrapped up/from head/he was/to foot

    (b) hid/his hat/every/his/face/inch of

    (c) the shiny/his nose/only/tip of/was visible

    (d) The two rooms/earlier/he asked for/he had booked/the keys of

    Answer : (a)  He was wrapped up from head to foot.

    (b) His hat hid every inch of his face.

    (c) Only the shiny tip of his nose was visible.

    (d) He asked for the keys of the two rooms he had booked earlier.

    Answer : - (a) There are no rules as to how our home has to look.

    (b) The important thing is that we should enjoy inhabiting them.

    (c) Houses are personal statements about our lives.

    (d) They reflect the confidence we have in ourselves.
